Why We Designed This

Young children learn best through hands-on, sensory experiences, which is why a sensory table is an essential feature in PreK classrooms, kindergartens, and daycare settings. Sensory play supports fine motor development, cognitive growth, and self-regulation skills—all in a fun and engaging way.

Our Bamboo Sensory Light Table features a natural aesthetic that’s ideal for early childhood environments and offers exceptional versatility.

Unlike many sensory centers, the light panel is removable, allowing it to be used in different areas of the classroom. Built-in brackets support the light panel, and when the light panel is removed, the opening can be covered with the included lid. This creates a usable surface for continued play—either the smooth tabletop side or the construction brick side. The construction brick tabletop is also removable, giving children the freedom to build on the floor or at another table while the light table is in use. When not needed, it slides neatly into a built-in storage slot, making it easy to rotate learning centers throughout the day.

For added organization, the storage tubs include lids to keep manipulatives and materials tidy and within reach.

Our finish is a nitrocellulose lacquer. Lacquers are a popular finish type for furniture and the preferred choice of professional furniture makers. Lacquers provide a clear, durable, and water-resistant finish, that protects the base material while enhancing its appearance.

The Construction Brick table is a well-loved item in our classroom, getting used multiple times throughout the day.
