Why We Designed This
Educators can place this cadence sensor on exercise/spin bikes, and it can be used to teach about physical health and fitness, specifically with cycling activities and apps such as Zwift (speed mode only). Educators can create a learning experience by tracking cycling performance over time, which can provide lesson opportunities in the classroom (math, measurement, stats, charting, etc.). This sensor is intended specifically for cycling and is not usable for other types of exercise. It can be switched between speed sensor (mounted to a bicycle wheel or spin cycle flywheel) and cadence sensor modes (mounted to a pedal crank). Offers a combination speed or cadence sensor for bicycles or spin bikes and can be paired to devices and apps via Bluetooth or Ant+ to monitor either pedaling cadence or wheel speed while cycling.
This sensor is to be used with cycling-specific apps that incorporate wheel/ground speed and/or pedaling speed (cadence) into their performance metrics (Zwift for example).
Note: this sensor cannot be used in speed mode (cadence only) on our Self-regulation Classroom Cruiser, or other bikes with enclosed flywheels.
